Mexico stocks higher at close of trade; IPC up 0.06%


Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the gained 0.06%.

The best performers of the session on the were Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:), which rose 2.70% or 0.800 points to trade at 30.450 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:) added 2.04% or 7.740 points to end at 387.050 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:) was up 1.21% or 0.260 points to 21.670 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:), which fell 2.80% or 0.690 points to trade at 23.920 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:) declined 2.42% or 0.400 points to end at 16.100 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:) was down 1.99% or 0.550 points to 27.060.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 174 to 106 and 8 ended unchanged.

Gold for February delivery was down 0.30% or 3.35 to $1129.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.38% or 0.20 to hit $52.69 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $54.84 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 0.03% to 20.7545, while EUR/MXN fell 0.02% to 21.6665.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 103.07.
